ArtYarn KAL!

I almost have the yarnbomb ready!

Tessellating granny blocks

It was nice out, so I ran down and measured the telephone pole across the street.

It's 70cm / 27½in around. Now to check my piece!

tessellating granny blocks

It's almost 50cm / 20in. I just need to add another couple of rows and it's all done :)

I want it a little small, so that I can lace it up the unseen back side and when it stretches a little from the weather, I'll be able to tighten it up.

Just as I was about to start working on it when the mail showed up.

SQUISHY MAIL!!! YAY!!!

My yarn showed up for the ArtYarn Holiday 2017 Knitalong Shawl!

Thunder Blue colorway kit from MontTricot

It feels soooo nice! It's a merino/cashmere blend and a skein of silk with beads and sequins. I can't wait to start!!

Here's a pic of the KAL shawl

Isn't it amazing! I had to get the yarn balled up and ready to go, The 1st part will be emailed to me in the morning

The blues are so vibrant!

Does anyone else have to use chairs to attach winders and swifts? The edge of the table is too wide! They need to make the clamps bigger.

So, next day I got my pattern and got started.

Here's where I'm at after a few hours of knitting. The beginning semicircle is done.

I had a lot of running around to do...I'm basically a taxi for my kids and their friends, as well as some of my adult family members....so while waiting at Dr's offices or school parking lots, I got the other 2 strips done for my yarnbombing. I'll get them sewn on and get it up on the pole as soon as I finish the rest of part one of the KAL!

I'll keep you updated :)

Cathy
